Regulations on the program

Every year on August 8, the International Day of Ophthalmology is celebrated – in honour of the birthday of the outstanding ophthalmologist Svyatoslav Nikolaevich Fedorov and as a recognition of his activities. On this day, traditionally, in many clinics, an all-Russian action “Beautiful eyes for everyone” is held, aimed at free ophthalmological examination of the population.

On this memorable date, the RetinaFond, together with Alcon, launched the unprecedented RetinaDar charitable campaign aimed at free surgical treatment of patients with retinal and vitreous pathology.

Vitreoretinal operations are classified as high-tech, and consumables for their implementation are expensive and inaccessible for most of the older generation, therefore, they are mainly carried out within the framework of state guarantees.

On 07.08.2020, after the signing of the agreement, Alcon donated consumables in the amount of 1.5 million rubles to the RetinaFond for these operations.

In August and September 2020, we plan to carry out free of charge surgeries for the treatment of vitreoretinal pathology:

• Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (including relapses);
• Vitreomacular traction syndrome;
• Macular hole;
• Proliferative diabetic retinopathy, traction retinal detachment;
• Hemophthalmos;
• Submacular hemorrhage;
• Traumatic injuries of the posterior segment;
• Lens dislocation / IOL dislocation into the vitreous body.

If necessary, all operations can be combined with cataract phacoemulsification and IOL implantation (AcrySof IQ).

The project is being implemented in partnership with clinics:

• Multifunctional medical center for children and adults “Liga +”;
• Ophthalmological clinic “Spectrum”.

The clinics cover all costs associated with the use of additional consumables and staff wages. And surgeons will operate free of charge:

• Tatiana Andreevna Avanesova, Ph.D. Med., Vitreoretinal Surgeon at the Liga + Clinic, Central Clinical Hospital of Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation;
• Oleg Vladimirovich Unguryanov, Ph.D. Med., Vitreoretinal Surgeon of the Spectrum clinic;
• Arseniy Aleksandrovich Kozhukhov, d.m.s., Vitreoretinal Surgeon of the Spectrum clinic.

How to participate in the program?

Applications for participation with a doctor’s opinion can be sent by both ophthalmologists and patients to retinafond@gmail.com indicating the subject of the letter “RetinaDar”. Applications with a diagnosis of retinal detachment are considered urgently.

You must attach to the letter:

• Opinion of an ophthalmologist;
• A copy of the passport (first page and registration page) and SNILS;
• Consent for photo and video filming; DOWNLOAD

We help patients with a newly diagnosed pathology according to the list above, with a waiting period for a quota in the state institutions for more than 3 weeks and if it is impossible to independently pay for treatment in a private clinic.

Surgical treatment according to indications will be carried out for any patient in the Russian Federation, regardless of whether he or she has Russian citizenship.

Transportation is at the expense of the patient.

This charitable program does not include intravitreal injections of Eylea, Lucentis, Ozurdex.
